AEROLYMPICS-2017 organised by Aeronautical Society of India

Bangalore: Aerolympics is an annual National event being conducted by Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), Bangalore Branch for the last five years.

The objective of National Aerolympics is to create an awareness and interest in the field of aerospace engineering among students of 10th, 11th and 12th standard all over India so that they can take up aerospace engineering as their career opportunities.

Invitations were sent to more than 600 schools spread over India to participate in National Aerolympics 2016 in the first phase. A team of three students of each school were required to prepare a project report on “Naval Aviation” guided by a teacher. 58 reports were received from various schools and were evaluated by a team of three judges who were experts in aerospace domain.

Based on the scores for the project reports 24 from 9 states(2 from Karnataka) top teams were shortlisted for the Phase 2 competition which is scheduled on 16th and 17thDecember 2016 at Hindustan Management Academy Auditorium and on 18thDecember, 2016 at Aeronautical Society of India Auditorium.

Phase 2 of the competitions are for individual students and student Groups. Presentations by 12 finalist groups on “Naval Aviation” will be judged by eminent persons and marks will be allotted to them.

On 16thDecember 2016 the inaugural function will be held at Hindustan Management Academy Auditorium ,Suranjan Das Road, Bangalore . The Chief Guest is Sh CD Balaji DS & Director ADA and Guest of Honour will be Dr. CP RamanarayananDirector General (ECS) DRDO, Bangalore.

On 17th evening there will be cultural programme and dinner hosted by AeSI inorder to give the students and Teachers an opportunity to interact with Executive committee members of Aeronautical Society and gain valuable insight into Aerospace domain. It is also planned to have two technical sessions by Scientists from ISRO and NAL, Bangalore to update the developments in the field of Aerospace Engineering.

On 18th December, 2016 Valedictory Function will be held at Aeronautical Society Auditorium and Chief Guest will be Shri. JitenderJadhav, Director, NAL, Bangalore and Guest of Honour will be Dr. CP Ramanarayanan. They will distribute the prizes and mementoes to all the individuals, Groups and over all winners and Runners-up teams.
