DRDO Showcases Defence Technologies at Aero India 2025

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is participating in Aero India 2025, held from February 10-14 at the Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru. The organisation is displaying a range of indigenously developed defence technologies, systems, and working models across various formats, including the Indoor Pavilion, Outdoor Displays, India Pavilion, and Flying Display.
A full-scale model of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), a 5.5-generation stealth fighter under development, is being exhibited at the India Pavilion. Additionally, 16 other DRDO-developed products and technologies are on display, including the Twin Engine Deck Based Fighter (TEDBF), LCA Mk-2 Model, Air Droppable Container (ADC)-150, Advanced Light Weight Torpedo, Kaveri Derivate Aero Engine without afterburner, and Naval Anti-Ship Missile (Medium Range).
The DRDO Indoor Pavilion, located at Hall-D, is structured around nine themes covering key areas of defence innovation. The themes include airborne surveillance, naval warfare, missile systems, unmanned aerial systems, radar technology, fighter aircraft sensor suites, and electronic warfare. More than 330 products are being displayed across 14 technology zones, which cover areas such as missile technology, combat aircraft systems, surveillance and reconnaissance, advanced materials, and cyber security. Technologies developed under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme are also being showcased.
The Outdoor Pavilion features real-world applications of defence technologies, including a full-scale model of the QRSAM Mobile Launcher Vehicle, Akash NG Launcher, Archer UAV (Rustom-1), and military combat parachute systems. The Dornier aircraft midlife upgrade is also being exhibited, highlighting enhancements in avionics, fuel efficiency, radar systems, and electronic warfare capabilities.
As part of the event, DRDO is organising a seminar titled 'DRDO Industry Synergy towards Viksit Bharat: Make in India - Make for World' on February 11. The seminar will focus on industry collaboration, self-reliance in defence, and expanding defence exports. Representatives from academia, private industry, start-ups, and public sector undertakings are expected to participate. The event will include the release of the revised Transfer of Technology (ToT) policy, a policy for engaging start-ups in defence R&D, and a compendium of DRDO products available for export. Licensing agreements for technology transfer to industries will also be announced.
On February 12, an event titled 'SAMARTHYA' will be held under the Department of Defence Production to recognise contributions to indigenously developed defence technologies. Five DRDO-developed products have been selected for recognition, with team leaders of these projects set to be felicitated.
Ahead of Aero India 2025, DRDO hosted the 15th Aero India International Seminar on February 8-9 in Bengaluru in collaboration with the Aeronautical Society of India. The seminar, themed 'Futuristic Aerospace Technologies: Challenges in Design Validation,' focused on emerging trends in aerospace technologies and military airworthiness certification.
DRDO's participation in Aero India 2025 highlights ongoing advancements in indigenous defence technology and industry collaboration.
