Rafael Advanced Defence Systems and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Aero India 2025 to jointly offer the TROPHY Active Protection System (APS) for Indian defence platforms.
TROPHY APS is designed to detect and neutralise incoming threats to armoured vehicles, including anti-tank missiles and unmanned aerial systems. As part of the collaboration, the system will be adapted for Indian military requirements and manufactured locally.
Rafael CEO Yoav Tourgeman stated that the partnership with L&T marks a step towards strengthening India’s defence capabilities through advanced technology. L&T’s Senior Vice President & Head of Precision Engineering & Systems, Arun Ramchandani, noted that the agreement would enable the production of a customised version of TROPHY APS, enhancing the survivability of current and future Indian combat platforms.
The initiative supports India’s efforts to advance domestic defence manufacturing and promote self-reliance in critical military technologies.
