Reliance to set up Aerospace Innovation and research centre in Bangalore

Bangalore: Reliance Group is to set up Dhirubhai Ambani Centre for Innovation and research in Aerospace at Bengaluru.

The proposed centre - first of its kind in the private sector in India will have world class facility for research, development and innovation in aerospace technology. The centre when established will generate more than 1500 highly skilled jobs and will be set up under Reliance Defence

" The proposed project will support Government's plan to accord the Highest Priority for Indigenous Design, Development and Manufacturing (IDDM) for Defence equipment Bengaluru is already the undisputed leader of India’s Aerospace program and home to some of its best scientific and defence institutions – from the Indian Institute of Science to the National Aerospace Lab, from ISRO HQ to ISRO Satellite Centre to DRDO labs.The proposed centre, to be set up under the auspices of Reliance Defence, will cement that leadership position further and drive Bengaluru’s emergence as a global destination in aerospace research and development." said Mr.Anil Ambani at the Global investors meet in Bangalore.

Reliance Group already has a total investment of about Rs 5,000 cr in the state of Karnataka across telecom, energy, financial services and entertainment sectors.
