Safran Aircraft Engines has partnered with Titan Engineering and Automation Limited (TEAL) for the production of low-pressure turbine components for the LEAP engine in India. The contract was signed during the Aero India trade show in Bengaluru, with production set to begin in 2026.
The agreement is part of Safran’s ongoing efforts to expand its manufacturing footprint in India. The company has been working with local suppliers to strengthen its supply chain and support increasing demand for the LEAP engine, which powers commercial aircraft, as well as the M88 engine used in Rafale fighter jets.
TEAL’s CEO, Sridhar Neelakantan, highlighted the company's expertise in precision manufacturing, while Dominique Dupuy, Vice President of Purchasing at Safran Aircraft Engines, emphasized the importance of local partnerships in scaling up production.
Safran Aircraft Engines currently operates five manufacturing sites across Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Goa, with a sixth facility dedicated to maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of LEAP engines set to open in Hyderabad in 2025. India is CFM’s third-largest market, with 75% of the country’s commercial aircraft fleet using CFM engines. Over 370 aircraft in India are currently powered by the LEAP engine, with more than 2,000 engines on order.
