An Air India flight en route from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi on October 14 after receiving a bomb threat, according to a press release from the airline. The aircraft, Flight AI119, was diverted following a "specific security alert" and instructions from the government's security regulatory committee, a spokesperson for Air India stated.
Upon landing, the plane was stationed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where standard safety protocols were implemented. All passengers disembarked safely and were moved to the Delhi airport terminal, according to the airline.
In a separate incident later that day, two IndiGo flights departing from Mumbai also received bomb threats. Flight 6E 1275, bound for Muscat, and Flight 6E 56, heading to Jeddah, were taken to an isolated bay for security checks. IndiGo confirmed that security procedures were initiated as per standard operating protocol.
