Airbus has entered into a manufacturing agreement with Mahindra Aerostructures for the production of fuselage assemblies for its H130 light helicopter. The Indian company is scheduled to deliver the first fuselage in the first quarter of 2027.
The fuselages will be manufactured in India by Mahindra Aerostructures, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra. The H130 helicopter is designed for applications such as emergency medical services, passenger transport, and tourism.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony in New Delhi attended by Airbus representatives and Indian government officials. Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, said, “Airbus will continue to invest in India as we scale up our industrial footprint.”
Also present at the event, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu stated, “India is destined to become a global aviation hub,” underscoring the role of industrial partnerships in expanding manufacturing activity.
Mahindra Aerostructures supplies components and assemblies to international aerospace manufacturers including Airbus, Boeing, and Safran. The company’s manufacturing operations include capabilities in sheet metal processing, precision machining, and structural assembly.
