Alpha Tocol Engineering Services Private Ltd has delivered the first rear fuselage for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The handover took place at HAL’s Aircraft Division in Bengaluru, marking the integration of private industry into the production of key structural components for the aircraft.
The rear fuselage, which supports the tail section, is a critical airframe component. HAL has already produced 12 rear fuselages in-house, with several aircraft in the production line. The inclusion of privately manufactured modules is expected to support HAL’s commitment to meeting delivery schedules for the Indian Air Force, starting in 2025-26.
As part of the 83 LCA Mk1A contract, HAL has outsourced the manufacturing of major structural modules to private firms, including L&T, Alpha Tocol Engineering Services, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), VEM Technologies, and Lakshmi Mission Works (LMW).
The event was attended by industry representatives, senior HAL officials, and members of the Indian Air Force, highlighting the growing role of private companies in India’s aerospace manufacturing sector.
