Avantel Limited has entered into a partnership with Safran Space to strengthen satellite ground segment capabilities in India. The collaboration focuses on the design, manufacturing, and integration of multi-band antennas to support satellite communication needs across the region.
Avantel stated in a press release that it will utilize its facilities in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam for the project. The company has also received authorization from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) to provide Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS), facilitating satellite connectivity and support solutions for domestic and international markets.
The agreement comes as private sector participation in India’s space industry continues to expand. IN-SPACe has recently granted similar authorizations to other companies, including Dhruva Space and Azista BST Aerospace, to establish ground stations and enhance satellite communication services. These initiatives reflect ongoing efforts to develop advanced ground segment infrastructure and increase private sector contributions to space technology.
