Boeing has appointed Stacie Sire as vice president and managing director of the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC), and chief engineer for Boeing India. She succeeds Ahmed Elsherbini, who held the position from April 2021 to January 2025 and now leads Boeing Global Engineering.
Sire, now based in Bengaluru, will oversee the strategy and operations of BIETC. Her role includes advancing engineering and manufacturing capabilities in India to support Boeing’s business objectives. She also serves as the chief engineer for Boeing India, overseeing technical functions across the region.
Sire has been with Boeing for 27 years, beginning as a structural engineer. Her previous roles include managing stress and integration teams on the 787 program and serving as senior director of engineering for fabrication. In that capacity, she led a global team supporting 20 different manufacturing business units.
Boeing’s India operations include annual sourcing valued at over USD 1.25 billion and a workforce of nearly 7,000 employees in the country. Its supply chain involves more than 300 local companies, with joint ventures focused on manufacturing fuselages for Apache helicopters and vertical fins for 737 aircraft. Over 13,000 people are employed through Boeing’s supply chain network in India.
Elsherbini said, “With 27 years of proven leadership at Boeing, Stacie brings invaluable experience to this role. Her expertise in leading teams and driving innovation for complex engineering programs, combined with her deep technical knowledge and collaborative mindset, will be key as we work towards building a fully integrated global engineering organization for The Boeing Company.”
Sire commented, “With a focus on safety, quality, engineering excellence, and collaboration, we have exciting opportunities ahead, and I look forward to contributing to BIETC’s continued success.”
