Bhubaneswar-based technology company BonV Aero is preparing to enter the US defence and aerial mobility market, focusing on drone certification under the Green UAS and Blue UAS programs. These programs assess cybersecurity and mission readiness for unmanned aerial systems.
BonV Aero's participation is supported by the I2A (India to America) launchpad initiative, which aims to facilitate collaboration between startups and US agencies such as the Department of Defence (DoD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The initiative, led by FedTech and Indus Bridge Ventures, focuses on defence modernization and critical infrastructure resilience.
The company has previously tested its autonomous logistics drones in high-altitude environments, demonstrating the ability to carry up to 30 kg at 19,024 feet. Co-founder Gaurav Achha stated that BonV Aero plans to scale its drone systems to transport 50 kg at 18,000 feet and eventually develop UAVs capable of carrying up to 500 kg over distances of 300 km.
CEO Satyabrata Satapathy stated, “We will be travelling to the US in May to sign MoUs and identify test beds to validate our UAV technology.”
