Bangalore Centum Electronics Limited has secured an order from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the design and development of Active Electronically Scanned Array radar systems for the Utility Helicopter–Maritime platform. The Phase-1 order is valued at INR 660 million, with a gross value of INR 780 million inclusive of goods and services tax (GST), and will be executed over the next two financial years.
Phase-1 covers the design and development of the radar systems. Upon successful execution, the programme is expected to move to Phase-2, which envisages serial production and supply of AESA radar systems over a five-year period, subject to contractual terms and programme requirements.
The company said in a stock exchange filing dated 24 February 2026 that the programme marks a milestone in its engagement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The filing stated that the AESA radar system is intended to detect, classify, and track multiple maritime targets to enhance the operational and surveillance capabilities of the helicopter in maritime environments.
