Collins Aerospace, a business unit of RTX, has launched the 2025 edition of its Powered by Collins Initiative at Aero India, aiming to advance aerospace technology through increased collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The initiative focuses on key areas such as material informatics and quantum-enabled navigation, supporting the development of next-generation aerospace and defence solutions.
The program offers SMEs the opportunity to collaborate on funded, rapid development demonstration projects that align with active aerospace and defence programs. Since its launch in 2023, the initiative has engaged with companies specializing in aerospace technologies as well as those from adjacent industries.
To further strengthen industry engagement, Collins Aerospace has introduced the Powered by Collins Ecosystem on Switchpitch, a digital platform connecting startups with enterprises, investors, and technology accelerators. This expansion is intended to facilitate year-round collaboration on aerospace innovation.
Mary Lombardo, vice president of Advanced Technology for Collins Aerospace, stated that the initiative will enable more dynamic partnerships, helping to accelerate technology deployment and meet evolving customer needs in the aerospace sector.
