DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations, listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), has entered into a term sheet agreement for a strategic merger with AVPL International. While the financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, the partnership aims to enhance technological capabilities and workforce development within India’s drone industry, according to a press release issued by the companies.
The merger seeks to advance drone manufacturing and development in industries such as agriculture, logistics, infrastructure, and defense. The companies plan to integrate technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and robotics into their drone systems. Additionally, efforts will be made to strengthen the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector by training a skilled workforce.
Prateek Srivastava, Founder of DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations, stated that the merger combines the technological expertise of DroneAcharya with AVPL International's operational infrastructure and incubation centers. According to the press release, this collaboration is expected to facilitate innovative solutions across various sectors.
Founded in 2016 by Preet Sandhuu and Deep Sihag Sesai, AVPL International specializes in drone technology and skill development. The company operates 70 skill and incubation hubs across 12 states in India, making it one of the largest drone training institutions in the country. AVPL is recognized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and collaborates with organizations such as the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), and Taiwan-based Ahamani Advanced Inc.
DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations provides drone-based services and solutions in agriculture, mining, urban planning, and infrastructure. The company also conducts drone pilot training and manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The merger is intended to align both companies’ resources and expertise to address the growing demand for drone technologies in domestic and international markets.
