Faiz Ahmed Kidwai has been appointed as the new Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), according to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
An IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Kidwai currently serves as an additional secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He will succeed D.C. Sharma, who has been holding the position as an additional charge and is set to retire at the end of the month.
Kidwai’s appointment comes amid ongoing discussions about the implementation of revised flight duty time limitations, an issue that has drawn attention from both pilots and airlines.
