Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has opened a radar maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Hyderabad, India, under its subsidiary HELA Systems Private Limited. This facility is designed to support radar systems used by the Indian Armed Forces, offering services such as power system repairs, cooling system maintenance, IT integration, radar testing, and calibration.
The facility employs 45 skilled professionals and 80 field engineers, with plans to involve over 100 specialists in radio frequency and microelectronics. It represents a step towards enhancing local defence capabilities and aligns with India’s broader "Make in India" initiative to strengthen domestic manufacturing.
Acquired by IAI in 2023, HELA Systems complements other recent efforts by IAI in India, such as the establishment of Aerospace Services India (ASI) earlier this year. Based in New Delhi, ASI employs 50 staff and serves as the technical representative for the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) system developed in collaboration with India’s Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
The Hyderabad facility marks IAI's continued focus on strengthening its role in India’s defence sector, providing technical support for advanced radar technologies and fostering local expertise.
