Chennai Inbound Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish an advanced aerospace and space systems manufacturing facility in Chennai with an investment of INR 1 billion. The proposed facility will support the production of recoverable and reusable spacecraft systems and associated subsystems.
The unit will undertake advanced composites fabrication, precision machining, avionics integration and clean-room satellite subsystem assembly. It will also carry out systems testing and expand engine testing infrastructure for green thrusters used in spacecraft de-orbiting. The facility will manufacture high-efficiency satellite solar panels and propulsion systems using non-toxic propellants.
The project is expected to create over 40 direct high-skilled employment opportunities, along with additional indirect jobs through ancillary and supply-chain activities. In the first phase, the company stated that it will provide 60 high-quality jobs.
