L3Harris Technologies and Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), a subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on defence and security equipment in India. The agreement, spanning two years, focuses on Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) technologies.
Under the MOU, both companies will jointly pursue opportunities for tactical communications network development in India. L3Harris, which has deployed over one million fielded radios across the U.S. Department of Defense and allied forces, will work with KSSL to support this initiative.
L3Harris Vice President, International, Dave Johnson stated that the agreement provides a framework for cooperation in delivering advanced tactical radios and equipment to the Indian Armed Forces. KSSL President & CEO Neelesh Tunger highlighted that the collaboration is aimed at meeting future strategic requirements, including joint and integrated ISR capabilities.
The initiative aligns with the U.S.-India Defence Industrial Cooperation, which seeks to enhance bilateral support for advanced defence technologies and equipment. In addition to the Indian market, the partnership aims to strengthen global supply chains.
L3Harris has been active in India for over 21 years, with operations in New Delhi and Bengaluru. The company supplies tactical radios, electro-optic/infrared systems, and telecommunications infrastructure for Indian airports in partnership with the Airport Authority of India.
