Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and MEMCO Associates (India) Private Limited to explore joint business opportunities in the defense and space sectors.
The agreement focuses on manufacturing and supplying specialized components for various applications, including shipborne and airborne radars, electronic warfare systems, and space situational awareness technologies. The companies will work together to establish efficient collaboration frameworks and operational models for these initiatives.
BEL, a Bengaluru-based public sector enterprise under India’s Ministry of Defence, is engaged in developing and producing radar systems, avionics, and other strategic electronic solutions. MEMCO Associates, also based in Bengaluru, represents Mitsubishi Electric in India, handling marketing and contracts in industries such as power systems and telecommunications.
The partnership is part of Mitsubishi Electric's strategy to enhance its capabilities in defense and space technology through regional collaborations. The company reported annual revenues of approximately $34.8 billion USD for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024.
