N Space Tech, a private defense and aerospace company, successfully tested its first payload, SwetchaSAT-V0, aboard ISRO's PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM-4) as part of the SPADEX Mission.
The payload was designed to test an ultra-high frequency (UHF) communication system developed in-house by N Space Tech. The company stated that the system transmitted data effectively, confirming its functionality. The hardware for the payload was both designed and manufactured domestically.
POEM-4 serves as a platform that utilizes the spent fourth stage of the PSLV rocket to create an orbital environment for experimental payloads. This allows startups to test technologies without the need for full satellite launches.
The company plans to develop capabilities in Ku-band frequencies for future missions, broadening its satellite communication offerings. N Space Tech was founded in 2020 by Divya Kothamasu and Raghuram Kothamasu and focuses on satellite communication systems.
According to the company, the successful test of SwetchaSAT-V0 aligns with the company's goal of contributing to the advancement of satellite communication technology in India.
