Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu PMI Engineering Exports Private Limited will invest INR 5 billion to establish a precision aerospace manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The project is expected to create 1,000 employment opportunities and will manufacture flight-critical components for civil aviation and defence applications.
The facility will undertake raw material cutting, precision machining, cleaning and finishing processes. Production will use five-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machining with micron-level tolerances and will involve titanium alloys, inconel and nickel-based superalloys.
PMI Engineering Exports Private Limited, incorporated in March 2005, is the Indian manufacturing arm of the US-based PMI Group (Penn Manufacturing Industries). The company operates from the Madras Export Processing Zone Special Economic Zone in Tambaram, Chennai, and serves as an export-focused hub for high-precision manufacturing, assembly and product development.
