Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based aerospace company, will invest INR 1 billion (USD 12 million) to set up an aircraft radome manufacturing unit in Assam. The facility will focus on producing radomes, which protect radar antennas while allowing electromagnetic signals to pass through.
The company’s expansion adds to its existing manufacturing operations in Bengaluru and builds on its collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The facility aims to support the demand for domestically produced radomes, which are used in aircraft, ships, and ground-based radar systems.
Spacefaring Technologies specialises in fabric-based radomes, deployable space habitats, aerostats, and ballistic shielding. It has previously worked with organisations such as NASA, ISRO, the Indian Army, and the Indian Air Force.
The investment is expected to contribute to Assam’s industrial sector and enhance domestic aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
