Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Ltd. (ADSTL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has finalized an agreement to acquire an 85.8% stake in Air Works India (Engineering) Private Limited. The transaction values Air Works at an enterprise worth ₹400 crore, as stated in a company announcement.
Air Works, a major player in India's Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, operates in 35 cities with a team of over 1,300 professionals. Its services span line maintenance, heavy checks, interior refurbishments, avionics upgrades, and asset management for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The company’s operations are centered at facilities in Hosur, Mumbai, and Kochi, holding regulatory approvals from more than 20 international civil aviation authorities.
The acquisition strengthens ADSTL’s position in the aviation MRO domain and supports its expansion in both civil and defence aviation services. Air Works has been involved in various defence MRO projects, contributing to platforms used by the Indian Navy and Air Force.
This move aligns with Adani Defence’s strategy to scale its aviation capabilities as part of its broader growth in the aerospace sector. Further details about operational changes or management plans were not disclosed.
