Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace (FWDA) has announced an export order for 35 FWD 100 ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) autonomous aircraft from a Sub-Saharan nation. The deal was revealed on February 11 at the Aero India 2025 air show in Bengaluru.
The FWD 100 ISR, a sub-variant of the FWD 200B, is designed for reconnaissance missions and features an advanced optical payload, a six-metre wingspan, a 3.8-metre length, and a maximum take-off weight of 90 kg. The aircraft has an operational endurance of up to 24 hours. Manufacturing and development take place at FWDA’s facility in Electronic City, Bengaluru.
Although the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the order adds to India's growing defence exports. FWDA also showcased an upgraded unmanned bomber at the event, equipped with laser-graded weaponry and extended endurance capabilities.
FWDA CEO Suhas Tejaskanda highlighted the significance of the deal in expanding India’s role in global defence manufacturing. The order aligns with broader efforts to strengthen domestic production and increase defence exports.
