Andhra PradeshDefence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed the final development trials of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM)-V3 in both Air-to-Ground and Air-to-Air modes at the DRDO test range near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
The ULPGM-V3 was developed by Research Centre Imarat along with DRDO laboratories including Defence Research and Development Laboratory, Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory.
Production partners for the missile include Bharat Dynamics Limited and Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Limited, while the UAV platform used during the trials was developed by Newspace Research and Technologies, Bengaluru.
The successful trials validate a mature indigenous supply chain involving Indian MSMEs and defence industries, paving the way for immediate serial production of the missile system.
