Ghaziabad-based Drone Yards has demonstrated its indigenous Spector Surveillance UAV to the Indian Army, marking another step in the military's growing adoption of home-grown unmanned systems for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
Designed as a fixed-wing platform, the Spector UAV offers long-endurance surveillance and real-time battlefield intelligence, making it suitable for border monitoring, high-altitude operations, artillery support, and reconnaissance across challenging terrain. The demonstration builds on Drone Yards' growing partnership with the Army, having earlier supplied over 200 FPV drones and trained more than 350 soldiers in drone operations.
As drones become an integral part of modern warfare, indigenous platforms like the Spector UAV are expected to enhance the Indian Army's surveillance capabilities while strengthening India's self-reliance in advanced defence technologies.
