Civil Aviation Ministry Explores Strategies to Boost Aircraft Component Manufacturing
The Ministry of Civil Aviation convened a high-level meeting to assess and advance India's aircraft component manufacturing sector. Chaired by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, the meeting included senior officials such as Civil Aviation Secretary V. Vualnam, Airports Authority of India Chairman Vipin Kumar, and Director General of Civil Aviation Faiz Ahmed, along with industry representatives from OEMs, MRO firms, research institutions, and trade associations.
The discussions centered on enhancing domestic production, expanding India’s role in the global supply chain, and addressing key areas such as skill development, infrastructure, and regulatory processes.
Naidu underscored the need for a comprehensive approach integrating design, manufacturing, maintenance, certification, and collaboration between government and industry stakeholders. He highlighted strategies to improve market access for Indian component manufacturers and strengthen MSME participation in the supply chain.
Vualnam stated that the government will conduct regular consultations with industry stakeholders to ensure continuous policy refinement and support sectoral growth. Participants reiterated their commitment to strengthening India's aerospace capabilities through investment in technology and strategic partnerships.
The initiative aligns with broader government efforts to enhance India's position in the global aerospace industry, with ongoing engagement expected to shape future policy measures and industry expansion strategies.
