Coromandel International Limited has partnered with Mahindra & Mahindra Limited’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) under its Krish-e business vertical to expand drone spraying services as part of Coromandel’s Gromor Drive initiative. The collaboration aims to facilitate the adoption of drone-based agricultural solutions in multiple Indian states.
The Gromor Drive is currently operational in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. The initiative is supported by certified pilots trained at Remote Pilot Training Organisations (RPTO). Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, a Coromandel subsidiary, is supplying drones and providing pilot training to ensure reliable service delivery.
Farmers can access the drone spraying services through the "Krish-e Kheti Ke Liye" app. The service operates on a pay-per-acre model, offering an alternative for cost-effective agricultural spraying.
Amir Alvi, Chief Operating Officer of Coromandel International, stated that the collaboration simplifies farming practices while aiming to improve productivity and reduce costs. Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector, noted that drone technology allows precise application of agricultural inputs, potentially reducing chemical exposure and enhancing crop outcomes.
The partnership combines Coromandel’s agricultural expertise with Krish-e’s farmer outreach to bring drone technology to a wider farming audience.
