Defence Technology Curriculum Launched Under Dr. Satheesh Reddy’s Chairmanship by AICTE and SIDM

AICTE and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) have introduced a new Model Curriculum for a Minor Degree in Defence Technology, developed under the chairmanship of Dr. Satheesh Reddy. His leadership helped guide the creation of a curriculum that focuses on practical skills needed in India’s defence sector. The program covers key areas like aeronautics, naval systems, cybersecurity, and advanced materials, aiming to fill skill gaps by bringing together government, academia, and industry. This collaboration ensures that students get training aligned with real world defence challenges and industry needs. This initiative is an important step towards the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, helping build a workforce ready to support India’s drive for self reliance in defence technology and manufacturing.
