GE Aerospace has signed a five-year Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) contract with the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of T700-GE-701D engines powering the IAF’s AH-64E-I Apache helicopters.
The contract covers engine MRO services and the supply of flight line parts, with the objective of maintaining engine availability and reducing maintenance turnaround times. The agreement is expected to enhance the operational readiness of the Apache fleet.
“The agreement reinforces GE Aerospace’s commitment to providing sustainment solutions that support the Indian Air Force’s mission readiness,” said Youngje Kim, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific, Defense & Systems for GE Aerospace.
The T700/CT7 engine family, used in both military and civilian aircraft, has recorded over 130 million flight hours worldwide. More than 25,000 engines from this series have been delivered globally.
GE Aerospace has a long-standing presence in India, with its engines in service across commercial and defence aviation. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Pune and works with multiple local partners as part of its global supply chain.
