Lockheed Martin will showcase its defense and aerospace systems at the 15th edition of Aero India, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru from February 10–14, 2025. The company will introduce the Vast™ Experience System in India for the first time, an interactive 3D visualization platform designed to illustrate multi-domain missions.
According to a statement from the company, its exhibit will include various defense platforms, including the C-130J Super Hercules tactical airlifter, the F-21 fighter aircraft, the MH-60R multi-mission helicopter, the Javelin weapon system, and the S-92 multi-role helicopter.
Lockheed Martin’s Vice President and Regional Chief Executive for Asia and India, William L. Blair, stated that Aero India provides an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s advanced capabilities and reinforce partnerships within the Indian defense sector.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) currently operates 12 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, used for tactical airlift missions. Lockheed Martin collaborates with Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited (TLMAL), which manufactures empennage assemblies for the C-130J. In 2024, the company expanded its collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) through a teaming agreement focused on future projects. This includes plans to establish a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India for the IAF’s C-130J fleet and other global Super Hercules aircraft, as well as enhancing local manufacturing capabilities for potential inclusion in the IAF’s Medium Transport Aircraft program, pending government approvals.
The F-21 fighter aircraft, designed for the IAF’s Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft competition, features advanced sensors, mission avionics, and a modern combat display system. Additionally, the MH-60R “Romeo” helicopter, used for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, is operational with the Indian Navy, which currently has 10 units in service and is expected to receive a total of 24 by the end of 2025.
Lockheed Martin’s exhibit will also include the Javelin weapon system, a portable fire-and-forget anti-tank solution, and the S-92 multi-role helicopter. The company collaborates with Tata Sikorsky Aerospace Limited for the production of S-92 aerostructure components in India.
