A new training center dedicated to the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) C295 aircraft program was inaugurated in Agar, Madhya Pradesh, yesterday. The facility, which includes a Full Flight Simulator (FFS), is designed to support pilot and crew training for the IAF’s C295 transport and surveillance fleet. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Air Marshal Dixit, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of HQ Central Air Command, along with representatives from Airbus and the IAF.
The training center is expected to enable IAF personnel to train in an immersive, high-fidelity environment, preparing them for a variety of mission scenarios, including emergency responses and complex operational conditions. Airbus noted that the facility aims to help the IAF enhance operational readiness and ensure crews are equipped with the skills necessary for safe and effective operations.
The establishment of this center represents a key phase in the C295 India program, a collaborative effort between Airbus and the IAF. This facility is intended to provide resources that will support long-term training and development needs for the IAF’s use of the C295.
