Rolls-Royce announced plans to double its sourcing of components from India within the next five years, focusing on advanced aerospace engines, naval propulsion systems, diesel engines, and gas turbine components. The company aims to enhance its supply chain partnerships in the country as part of its broader engagement in the Indian defense sector.
According to a company statement, Rolls-Royce currently procures high-precision parts and engine components from multiple Indian suppliers for its civil aerospace, defense, and power systems businesses. However, the total value of these sourced products was not disclosed.

The company has existing joint ventures and partnerships with firms such as Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), Tata, Bharat Forge, and Force Motors.
Rolls-Royce has also established an engineering and digital capabilities ecosystem in India, with more than 2,000 engineers engaged in various projects. The company’s supply chain strategy includes strengthening relationships with existing and potential suppliers to enhance local manufacturing of complex engine components.
Alex Zino, Executive Vice President for Business Development and Future Programmes at Rolls-Royce Defence, highlighted India’s role in the company’s long-term sourcing and technology development plans. He noted that enhancing local capabilities could support future co-production initiatives and contribute to domestic defense manufacturing.
