Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a multi-year agreement with Air France-KLM to support the airline group’s shift towards a data-centric operational model. Under this contract, TCS will modernize Air France-KLM’s data infrastructure over the next three years, transitioning it to a cloud-based system to enhance operational efficiencies and data accessibility across the airline’s global operations.
The project will include migrating core business systems and essential operational data to a cloud environment. This move aims to eliminate data centers and improve data handling for key functions such as flight operations, passenger information, and aircraft maintenance. TCS stated that its team of over 100 professionals, based across centers in France, the Netherlands, and India, will collaborate closely with Air France-KLM's data teams in Toulouse to implement this transformation.
Air France-KLM’s Group CIO, Pierre-Olivier Bandet, noted the airline’s commitment to becoming more data-driven to meet evolving industry needs, emphasizing the role of data in enhancing agility and customer experience.
TCS has been a partner of Air France-KLM for over 30 years, contributing to various digital and operational enhancements, including the development of mobile apps and digital queuing features. This latest partnership will see TCS work on enabling quicker access to actionable insights from complex and dispersed data, with an initial focus on achieving cloud data accessibility within the first year of the project.
TCS has been expanding its European presence, with over 1,600 employees in France and recent investments in a new AI Center of Excellence and the recruitment of 500 new staff in recent years.
