The Indian and Australian Air Forces have formalized an agreement for air-to-air refueling, enabling the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft to refuel Indian military aircraft. This arrangement was finalized during the Australia-India Air Staff Talks held in New Delhi on Thursday.
According to a press release, the agreement aims to enhance operational interoperability between the two nations, facilitating extended range and endurance for their respective air forces. The development is expected to support military deployments, exercises, and operations across the Indo-Pacific region.
"This arrangement will provide valuable opportunities for our personnel to work closely together, share knowledge and expertise, and build trust and understanding," said Australia's Deputy Chief of Air Force, Harvey Reynolds.
The agreement marks a notable step in defense cooperation between the two countries and underscores their focus on strengthening security and operational capabilities in the region.
