Collins Aerospace has announced plans to strengthen its sourcing and manufacturing operations in India, with a focus on avionic systems, interior components, and aerostructures. The company has already invested $200 million in research, development, and manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru and is exploring additional investments in manufacturing, aftermarket services, and engineering.
The Bengaluru facility is notable as the company’s only site globally to support all six of its portfolios, including avionics, interiors, advanced structures, and connected aviation solutions, according to Savyasachi Srinivas, Vice President of Engineering at Collins Aerospace.
Collins Aerospace supplies components for commercial aircraft operated by Boeing and Airbus in India and supports military programs such as the LCA Tejas Mk1 for the Indian Air Force. The company also aims to leverage India’s cost-effective manufacturing ecosystem and skilled workforce to enhance its regional operations.
The expansion is expected to create opportunities for local suppliers and contribute to the growth of the aerospace sector in the region.
