Air Kerala, a new airline backed by Zettfly Aviation, is set to begin operations in 2025, starting with flights from Kannur International Airport and Mysuru Airport. The airline plans to launch its services by May or June, focusing initially on domestic routes with an affordable travel model.
The airline has entered agreements with both Kannur and Mysuru airports to establish its presence. It will begin operations with three ATR aircraft, serving four airports in Kerala and Mysuru. The airline also plans to collaborate with Mysuru Airport to establish an aviation academy aimed at supporting skill development in the aviation sector.
Air Kerala's international services are expected to launch by the end of 2026, using Kochi as its primary base. These routes will target the Gulf sector, a region with significant demand due to the expatriate population. To support this expansion, the airline plans to increase its fleet size.
Zettfly Aviation, which supports Air Kerala, is led by a group of expatriate business leaders. The airline's leadership includes chairman Afi Ahmed, vice chairman Ayub Kallada, and CEO Harish Kutty, who previously held roles at SpiceJet.
The airline’s domestic operations aim to enhance regional connectivity and contribute to the growth of tourism in areas such as the Malabar region.
